morning açaí

Within the past few months, I have fallen in love with making açaí smoothie bowls.  They're extremely easy to make and they are equally as delicious to eat as they look in pictures!  The only thing that can be a bit time consuming about them is if you put them together ingredient by ingredient (such as one banana slice at a time).  However, I am here to tell you that even if you throw all the ingredients in at once, they look just as beautiful!

Smoothie Ingredients:
Sambazon Açaí Smoothie Pack
1/4 cup Almond Milk (I use unsweetened vanilla)
Fruit of your choice (I use 1/2-1 banana)
Optional: 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Oil

Toppings:
Chia Seeds
Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
Berries or remaining banana slices
Granola

Directions:
Blend the smoothie ingredients until fully smooth and pour into your favorite bowl.  Add any toppings of your choice.  Blackberries or raspberries are personal favorites of mine along with any remains of the banana I use.  I love adding granola to mine to add some crunch along with the great flavor that coconut flakes add to the dish.

I hope you enjoy!  Below are a few of the açaí bowls I have made so far.

P.S. You'll see homemade lattes in two of these photos.  I've tried a few inexpensive espresso machines and have been unlucky each time. I recently stumbled upon a gadget in Whole Foods called the Hario Latte Shaker Milk Creamer and initially, I'll admit I was skeptical.  It only cost me $20 and it claimed on the box that by shaking milk in it for a minute I would have froth to heat and pour over my coffee.  My skepticism was proven wrong because it works!  I definitely recommend it.  I use it with nonfat milk or almond milk to pour over a fresh brewed cup of coffee or instant espresso powder.  To sweeten it up stop by your nearest grocery store to pick up a bottle of Torani flavored syrup.  Voilà!  You have your own homemade latte that tastes good and makes your wallet happy!
