ootd 04.23.15

Today's outfit included the same three details as yesterday: prep, class, and comfort.  I just recently went on a J.Crew shopping spree for spring shorts and these shorts were one of the pairs I knew I had to have.  I was really into printed shorts last summer and I am continuing the trend this summer.  These have a detailed flower print, but with just white, tan, and black as the colors, they're not busy for the eye to look at.  I paired them with a plain black tee, black sandals, jewelry with accents of turquoise, layered necklaces, and my favorite purse, a tan and black Michael Kors purse that I was lucky enough to find on sale.  J.Crew shorts can be extremely pricey, but I lucked out again and shopped on a sale day, receiving 50% off!  Their shorts are great quality, but are also super comfortable and chic.

ootd 04.22.2015

Today's outfit incorporated prep, class, and comfort - three things I love to mix together in fashion.  An outfit can look absolutely perfect, but if you're not comfortable, you're most likely going to be miserable by the end of the day.  Where I live, the weather has been very scattered where one day it feels like fall and the next day feels like summer.  The most difficult days to dress for are ones like today: mid 50s in the morning, but mid 70s by the afternoon.  This outfit was ideal because my new navy J.Crew Frankie Chino Pants kept me warm in the morning, but we're cool enough with my short sleeved lace top to enjoy the day without being too warm.  For accessories, I wore my everyday watch by Relic, pearl earrings, a necklace and bracelet with an accent color of mint, and standard tan sandals.  Throughout the day I carried my blue Longchamp purse which is one of my all time favorite bags.
P.S. Happy Earth Day!

morning açaí

Within the past few months, I have fallen in love with making açaí smoothie bowls.  They're extremely easy to make and they are equally as delicious to eat as they look in pictures!  The only thing that can be a bit time consuming about them is if you put them together ingredient by ingredient (such as one banana slice at a time).  However, I am here to tell you that even if you throw all the ingredients in at once, they look just as beautiful!

Smoothie Ingredients:
Sambazon Açaí Smoothie Pack
1/4 cup Almond Milk (I use unsweetened vanilla)
Fruit of your choice (I use 1/2-1 banana)
Optional: 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Oil

Toppings:
Chia Seeds
Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
Berries or remaining banana slices
Granola

Directions:
Blend the smoothie ingredients until fully smooth and pour into your favorite bowl.  Add any toppings of your choice.  Blackberries or raspberries are personal favorites of mine along with any remains of the banana I use.  I love adding granola to mine to add some crunch along with the great flavor that coconut flakes add to the dish.

I hope you enjoy!  Below are a few of the açaí bowls I have made so far.

P.S. You'll see homemade lattes in two of these photos.  I've tried a few inexpensive espresso machines and have been unlucky each time. I recently stumbled upon a gadget in Whole Foods called the Hario Latte Shaker Milk Creamer and initially, I'll admit I was skeptical.  It only cost me $20 and it claimed on the box that by shaking milk in it for a minute I would have froth to heat and pour over my coffee.  My skepticism was proven wrong because it works!  I definitely recommend it.  I use it with nonfat milk or almond milk to pour over a fresh brewed cup of coffee or instant espresso powder.  To sweeten it up stop by your nearest grocery store to pick up a bottle of Torani flavored syrup.  Voilà!  You have your own homemade latte that tastes good and makes your wallet happy!

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my new blog!
I've been wanting to create a blog for awhile that incorporates three things I focus on daily: fashion, fitness, and nutrition.  I am definitely a style guru and love to be up to date on the latest fashion trends so I thought I'll be sharing any favorite outfits from the past along with upcoming ones.  I am a figure skater of almost fourteen years so I am super into fitness and will share any exercises that I love to include in my workouts.  Nutrition and health is one of my daily passions as I try my best to be creative with healthy recipes that everyone enjoys eating without feeling like they're being bombarded with health foods.  Naturally I have a big sweet tooth so I love to find new recipes that include the sweet taste I'm looking for without always regretting it afterwards (I am definitely a Pinterest addict and I have always loved to cook).  I'm working on living by the motto, "Don't eat it if you'll regret it afterwards."  That can relate to unhealthy foods or even just eating too much.  Always eat foods that you're proud of eating and that you would like to show off to people!  I hope y'all enjoy. :)
